Our research interests focus around metal-dependent regulation of proteins function, structure and stability. We aim to answer question how metalloproteins obtain their metal ions and how those ions regulate their mission in the cell. We also focus on the development of new fluorescent chemical tools for regioselective and multifunctional proteins labeling,  new analytical methods to monitor metal ion fluctuations in the cell, and methods to study metalloprotein stability. We address the fundamental questions using a combination of tools and techniques including protein engineering, synthetic chemistry, biophysical analyses, molecular and structural biology.
